Most real estate agents follow a similar marketing pattern to sell homes. First, the property description and images appear on MLS. An overhaul in how several major credit reporting agencies factor in negative credit information is prompting millions of consumers’ credit scores to rise. Collection events were struck from 8 million consumers’ credit reports in the 12 months ending in June. The New York Federal Reserve reported Tuesday that consumers who had at least one collections account removed from their credit reports are seeing an 11-point increase to their scores. The Marketing Department is now accepting submissions of 600k+ homes for the Fall issue of the Distinctive Collection digital magazine.

Send your submissions (address, MLS #, and a minimum of five higher resolution photos – one should include the front of the house) to the marketing department. Deadline is Monday, August 27. The digital magazine will go live in early/mid September.

It is with great sorrow that we must share the news that Betsy Titterington (PV/SL) passed away late last week. Betsy was a wonderful person and a great agent. She will be missed not only by her office, but by the entire Kansas City Homes family. Betsy’s memorial service will be at 10:30am Saturday, August 18th at the First Lutheran Church located at 6400 Stateline Rd. in Mission Hills, KS. A reception will immediately follow the service.

The new required fields for Heartland MLS that were announced in January will officially be taking effect on Aug. 7. This means that entry of square footage and lot size will be required, and that detailed directions to listed properties, more than simply directing to Google Maps, will be required along with a relevant photo of the property.
